"Unframed" A Solo Exhibition by Diana Toma
August 9th, 2019 - August 20th, 2019
About the artist:
“I’m Diana and I see the Arts as an opportunity to touch, move and inspire others. I am an award winning artist, and I hold a Master Degree in Fine Arts. Born and raised in a beautiful South-East European country, Romania, I’ve been traveling the world and am now currently located in vibrant Atlanta, Georgia. I love to explore with watercolors, oils and acrylics, looking to depict the emotional aspect of my subjects. When looking at my paintings ask yourself these questions: if you could imagine yourself within the artwork, what sounds would you hear? How would you feel? What would you be?
My whole life gravitates around creating art. I am fascinated with observing unassuming moments, and I paint portraits of such instants, whether it’s people, places or instances. My subjects are an opportunity to witness and capture the uniqueness of being: a quick fluttering in time at the juncture of attention and intent. When observing wholeheartedly, I relate. I experience a communion with another’s essence – there is profound meaning to be found in that place where we overlap. My paintings are glimpses of such extraordinary moments, created with the intent to bring about a sense of wonder and engage the viewer at an emotional level.”

"What Binds Us" A Solo Exhibition by Niki Zarrabi
July 12th, 2019 - August 6th, 2019
About the Artist":
Niki Zarrabi is a first generation Iranian-American, mixed media artist from Atlanta, Georgia. She received a Bachelor in Fine Arts with a Concentration in Drawing and Painting from Georgia State University in 2014. Her work ranges from painting and sculpture to large-scale installation work.
Zarrabi explores the complex relationship between spirituality and the science of human existence. She uses art to study the structure of our universe as a means to understanding its sustenance. By recreating the delicate infrastructures of biology in her layered pieces, Zarrabi is abstractly interpreting her own perception of our existence. Her goal is to provide her audience with an alternate appreciation for the countless, fragile yet complex elements that come together in order to give us life.
Zarrabi further examines the spiritual connectivity that exists amongst all life forms concurrently in her series of botanical paintings, titled 'Femme Petale'. These surrealist paintings push the idea of reincarnation as represented by flowers, seeing as plants are continually in a state of living and dying. The floral arrangements are illustrated as "melting" to represent a return back to the earth while the flowers represent life itself. These paintings strive to find beauty and comfort in the inevitability of death. 'Femme Petale' additionally delves into topics of fertility and Mother Nature by subtly alluding to feminine power and matriarchy.
