This body of work reflects an ongoing tension between holding things together and allowing them to unfold - both in life and in the act of painting itself. Loose, gestural mark-making exists alongside moments of control, mirroring the push and pull between instinct and restraint.

The figures often appear composed yet are surrounded by forms that feel expansive and difficult to contain. Florals become both something to nurture and something that resists control - an evolving presence that reflects growth, care, and the quiet pressure of tending to something beyond full control.

Rather than following a singular narrative, these paintings hold emotional states. Each piece exists as a moment - shaped by softness and structure, where balance is constantly being negotiated, but never fully resolved.
